Weekly Question – Best Batman 01/07/16
We’ve actually been here before. Like a year and a half ago. Last time though, we said OUTSIDE of comics, but this time, everything is fair game, it’s a new year and we have a new plan and maybe we have new listeners, maybe you’ve changed your opinion, but the theme for the our weekly question in 2016 is “Best _____” and we’re starting things off with Batman.
Batman may not be the oldest character, but he is arguably DC’s biggest gun with the most representation both in and out of comics. So, for YOU, what is your favorite Batman? Be as vague or as specific as you’d like. Do you like the entire Batman ’66 Adam West run? Is that time Dick Grayson was Batman, but only Scott Snyder’s the Black Mirror storyline?
Just tweet us with your answer using the hash tag #LBHQuery. Don’t like or have Twitter? Need more room to explain your choice? Just leave a comment on this post!
We’ll compile up all the answers and talk about them on next week’s show!
My favorite Batman was in the Alan Grant/Norm Breyfogle run. Showed off his detective skills and had an interestingly dark tone without the mopey brooding he can slip into. Plus it had my favorite Batmobile and Bat Costume.
Batman: Animated, and by that stretch Kevin Conroy, is the best Batman ever shown on a screen. If I’m going comics, I loved the style of Black&White.
My brother gave me his art class project (pointilism; you draw with dots) of this picture.

Batman, The Animated Series is my definitive. The psychology, the sound, and the style. It has to be Kevin Conroy, and he needs to be in black and grey. Bruce Timm’s distinctively simplistic art helps too.
