Hey gang, LFC here. Unfortunately, due to this crazy weather we’ve been having in the North East, the show will be a day late this week. Around 7:30pm today, my internet went out. I tried to get my local ISP on the blower but they were (I’m sure) jammed with calls. So, five minutes before we were set to record, I called Todd & informed him of my situation. He offered to drive to me (about 45 minutes away) and for the first time ever, record the show live. Even with no internet, he could 4G the show to Brian with his phone or bring the file back with him. I suggested we give it a bit, until I got a hold of my ISP to get an ETA on the SIT (uation). Minutes later, I got them on the phone and they hadn’t even opened a ticket for my area. As I called Todd to let him know, he informed me he had lost all power!  Somehow, this is Thor’s fault! I listen to a lot of podcasts. A LOT of podcasts. I have a pool of almost 50 podcasts that I listen to on a regular basis, listening to anywhere from 4-6 a day. I also appear on two podcasts, Longbox Heroes (found on this very site) and Dadstractions on a regular basis as well as frequent appearances on a variety of other podcasts. I’m not going to say I’m a podcast expert, but I’m definitely can speak from experience. So today, I’m going to recommend to you some of my favorite comic book podcasts. The ones that bring a smile to my face, teach me something and have even inspired me as a podcaster. War Rocket Ajax: A weekly podcast co-hosted by comic book writers Chris Sims (Down, Set FIGHT!) and Matt Wilson (Copernicus Jones: Robot Detective). Each episode features recommendations, comic reviews, interviews with some of the top creators in all of comics and for the 2014 calendar year, they are compiling the list of Every Story Ever. Where Do I Start? Being weekly, found at War Rocket Ajax, look through the archives for your favorite writer or artist’s appearance as a guest. That should be enough of a hook to bring you in. House to Astonish: Admittedly, the show I’ve cribbed most of the format and structure of Longbox Heroes from. A bi-weekly (sometimes more) podcast where Al Kennedy and Paul O’Brien cover the news, dabble into Previews, talk about recent comics and try to give a new coat of paint to some morts in The Official Handbook of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.
